The GMC collects through HESA undergraduate assessment data for all summative assessments that lead to a primary medical qualification. The data is used by the GMC to carry out its statutory functions under the Medical Act 1983. The inclusion of this data in UKMED allows to explore the relationship between undergraduate performance and performance at postgraduate level in detail, as well as differential attainment in undergraduate assessment.
